Rock and more rock!

It's not Rock N Roll, but it's actually more exciting.. SHEETROCK!

And, on the outside, they are working quickly to re-brick all of the walls. We were fortunate to find the exact brick from another house that was torn down so even though we will be painting the exterior, it is an absolute perfect match.
West side of house with brick! No more green boards.:)
My parents came in town this weekend for a quick visit and we loved that they could see first hand the house as it is coming together. The last time they saw the house, we hadn't even started demo, so we have come along way! The next time they visit will be to help us move and we will have room for them to stay with us. :)

It was great to see such quick progress this week and we just hope it continues at this pace to hit our late September move-in goal.

Open Sesame! We have windows and doors!

Sorry for the delay in updating the blog, but the house hasn't been making huge strides lately that really show up in pictures. Lots of the little things are happening, like electrical wiring, HVAC duct work, pre-wire for speakers and even the attic stairs have been completed, but none of that is very exciting to see in photos. We do however, now have all new windows and doors and they look fantastic!

The window guy came out and met with us and showed us our options and he was really nice and so very helpful. As it turns out he grew up right next door to James and his parents are still next door neighbors to James' parents! What a small world!

The back porch and family room have really come together nicely and we can get a true feel for the flow of the bar, kitchen, family room and porch. The french doors turned out beautifully!!

We are still waiting on the front door..it's a custom door that has to be made since it is 7'6" tall! Can't wait to see it.

Next steps will be a few more inspections (fingers crossed for all green tags!), and then insulation and sheetrock! We should have walls soon, y'all!! WOO HOOO!
