Caroline's 3rd Month

My, how time flies! I cannot believe you are already 3 months old! I find myself now telling people how many months old you are instead of weeks!

You are growing like crazy and gaining about an ounce per day! You now weigh 11lbs, 15oz! Very soon you will have doubled your birth weight.

This month was full of LOTS and LOTS of new and exciting adventures.

Your grandma Carol and mommy took your shopping at Snider Plaza for your very first outing. You were a trooper and even slept while we enjoyed lunch at Zoe's.
Your 1st outing, wearing a vintage Feltman Brothers dress that was mommy's!

You went to your first SMU tailgate (even in the rainy, crummy weather!)

Your Great Aunt Jo came for a visit again!

We hosted a great Tailgating themed Sip N See and introduced you to all of our friends!
Great Grandma Nora Katherine with Mommy and Caroline at the party.

You went to your first SMU Homecoming and loved the parade!

You had your first Halloween and mommy made you an adorable costume! You were the cutest parrot we've ever seen!

Visiting daddy at work for Trick O Treating
A pirate and her parrot! :)
Your first deer season opened so you had to wear your Browning camo!

You have even started sleeping through the night! (Sometimes!) We were on quite a roll of you sleeping through the night 8pm-8am, but we had to switch your formula again as it appears you have inherited a dairy intolerance like your daddy had when he was a baby. So, you are now on the same formula he had (ProBeSoy) and you seem to be liking it! We are hoping once you adjust to the new formula, you will go back to sleeping like a baby! ;)
Very proud of yourself after sleeping through the night for the 1st time.

You are such a sweet baby and are really happy most of the time. The only times you cry are if you are really tired, have a dirty diaper or it's time to eat. If you are hungry you let US KNOW IT and can really give us the business! You are definitely developing your very own personality and we cannot wait to see the little person that you are becoming blossom. We love you more than anything in the world, baby girl!

Caroline's 2nd Month

Happy Two Month Birthday, Sweet Baby Girl!

You are growing like a weed and getting bigger before our very eyes.
Your stats at 2 months are:
10lbs, 6oz
21.75" long
15.47 head size
You are in the 25th percentile for weight and length and the 75th percentile for head size! You are already doing a great job holding up your big ole' noggin though!

Enjoying the great weather with Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Rick.

Showing off your dancing skills! (And the first time you are wearing pants!)

This month we have focused on eating and growing.

We have learned that you have reflux and have you are taking Zantac which seems to be helping. We have switched from a hypoallergenic formula to Infamil AR and you love it. It's creamy and even daddy said it tasted pretty good! ;) You have grown out of Newborn sized diapers and are on to Size 1. I've even started packing up some of your clothes because you are starting to grow out of Newborn sizes and moving up to 0-3. We are so thrilled to see you getting those adorable cheeks but they certainly do make you look just like your daddy!

We haven't ventured out yet because there has been a whooping cough outbreak, but you have gone over at your Grandma Carol and Grandpa Harlan's house and you LOVE your piano playmat that is there.

You had your first round of vaccines today and we are excited to take you out in the world and show you off! Look out world, here we come!

Caroline's 1st Month

My sweet Caroline,
You are one month old and I can hardly believe it! Time truly flies when you are having fun! You are a sweet and very good little girl. You only cry when you are hungry or have a wet or dirty diaper and are sleeping four hour stretches most nights. This month has obviously been a big one, being your first month and all, and while we've mostly worked on eating and gaining weight (that's an entire blog post by itself about that!), we've still managed to have lots of fun!

Here is a review in pictures of some of the things we've been up to this month.

You love your mamaroo and have even slept many nights next to our bed in your swing. (We are working on transitioning to your crib now.)

Your daddy is completely smitten!

Your Aunt Katherine and Uncle Justin love you very much!

You have had many impromptu photo shoots.. some more successful than others! :)

You have met LOTS of family already!
Four generations of Biltons

You are very expressive and give us lots of funny looks!

You took your first trip to the farm on Labor Day weekend! It was too hot for you to do very much, but we think you still had fun!

You and mommy watching College Gameday on the iPad since we don't have ESPN out there.
Watching your first UGA football game and cheering on the Dawgs!
You have a guardian watchdog in Dooley. If you cry out he always runs over to make sure you are ok.
You and your buddy enjoying tummy time.
Your grandparents have been wonderful babysitters and let mommy and daddy go out!
1st date night (two weeks)

You love to go on walks and even though it has been too hot most days, we've been able to go on a few strolls.

We couldn't love you more!

Welcome to the world, little girl!

My sweet, sweet daughter,

We are so completely in love with you! You arrived right on schedule at 8:31pm on Friday, August 2nd. You surprised us all and weighed only 6 lbs, 5 ounces! You were 19 inches long and your head measured 13 3/4 (definitely daddy's little girl--have the same head size as he did when he was born!) We named you Caroline Browning Bilton and you are perfect!

Baby B's Nursery: Circus Inspired, but Animal, Family and Playful Finished Product

The nursery is finished and ready for Baby B to make his or her appearance! Whew.. I honestly didn't know how much I was stressing over getting everything finished until it was actually complete and I finally relaxed. Now, when I walk by the nursery I just smile instead of mentally reviewing my to-do list! :)
As I mentioned in a previous post, we let fabric and a colorful palette be our inspiration, but it actually became the animals from the fabric and family photos and mementos that have taken center stage in the nursery. James and I both admit it's a little bit of a mix-n-match of items, but it really came together perfectly and I could not be more thrilled with the finished product.

So, here is a tour of the nursery..

Our awesome glider and crib are ready for lots of enjoyment by Baby B.

The zebra rug was all James' idea and looks great!  Dresser was James' grandparents and has been in this house now for multiple generations to enjoy.

Baby Bilton banner was made by our friend Kelly for our baby shower.

And, here are some close of shots of some of the elements..

Baby photos of James and me along with our maternity shoot photo. The balloon lamp is from my nursery and the Paddington Bear was mine as a child. The BILTON blocks were a gift from my dad's assistant.

This circus themed quilt was made for James's dad by his grandmother (so Baby B's great, great, great grandmother). What an amazing family heirloom that matches the nursery perfectly!

Of course any Bilton baby will grow up with lots of stuffed animal heads around!

Found these awesome handmade letterpress prints on Pinterest. Have to represent both mom and dad's home states! :)

Bookshelf displays lots of great books, family photos and toys from James and my childhood. We found baby photos of Baby B's parents, aunt, grandparents and even many great grandparents to display. He or she will know they are loved by many generations!

These shelves were a complete nightmare to install (loooong story) but turned out great. They display family photos, and hold new and old books and toys.
And, a little self promotion of the sewing that I did for the nursery..
Changing pad cover out of striped accent fabric. Had to teach myself to make darts for this one!

Blackout lined curtains-had to work with lots of fabric to make these!

Crib skirt was actually pretty easy.

Accent pillow with an adorable pom pom trim that I just had to use.
Burp cloths. We are ready for football season!
Now all we need is a baby!! 10 days to go until due date, but we'd be happy to meet Baby B any day now!
