The nursery is finished and ready for Baby B to make his or her appearance! Whew.. I honestly didn't know how much I was stressing over getting everything finished until it was actually complete and I finally relaxed. Now, when I walk by the nursery I just smile instead of mentally reviewing my to-do list! :)
As I mentioned in a previous post, we let fabric and a colorful palette be our inspiration, but it actually became the animals from the fabric and family photos and mementos that have taken center stage in the nursery. James and I both admit it's a little bit of a mix-n-match of items, but it really came together perfectly and I could not be more thrilled with the finished product.
So, here is a tour of the nursery..
| Our awesome glider and crib are ready for lots of enjoyment by Baby B. |
| The zebra rug was all James' idea and looks great! Dresser was James' grandparents and has been in this house now for multiple generations to enjoy. | | |
| Baby Bilton banner was made by our friend Kelly for our baby shower. |
And, here are some close of shots of some of the elements..
| Baby photos of James and me along with our maternity shoot photo. The balloon lamp is from my nursery and the Paddington Bear was mine as a child. The BILTON blocks were a gift from my dad's assistant. |
| This circus themed quilt was made for James's dad by his grandmother (so Baby B's great, great, great grandmother). What an amazing family heirloom that matches the nursery perfectly! |
| Of course any Bilton baby will grow up with lots of stuffed animal heads around! |
| Found these awesome handmade letterpress prints on Pinterest. Have to represent both mom and dad's home states! :) |
| Bookshelf displays lots of great books, family photos and toys from James and my childhood. We found baby photos of Baby B's parents, aunt, grandparents and even many great grandparents to display. He or she will know they are loved by many generations! |
| These shelves were a complete nightmare to install (loooong story) but turned out great. They display family photos, and hold new and old books and toys. |
And, a little self promotion of the sewing that I did for the nursery..
| Changing pad cover out of striped accent fabric. Had to teach myself to make darts for this one! |
| Blackout lined curtains-had to work with lots of fabric to make these! |
| Crib skirt was actually pretty easy. |
| Accent pillow with an adorable pom pom trim that I just had to use. |
| Burp cloths. We are ready for football season! |
Now all we need is a baby!! 10 days to go until due date, but we'd be happy to meet Baby B any day now!
