I cannot believe it, but we are almost half way through this 40 week adventure! I always knew that I wouldn't be one of those women who just loves being pregnant (I mean, I love wine WAY too much for that to be possible- ha!) but I have to admit that with 22 weeks left, I am already ready to start a countdown to the end. At least I am finally showing and don't just feel (and look) pudgy.. although I think the look I get from strangers is, "Is she prego or does she just have a really unfortunate build and had a big lunch?" I catch that look at the belly and quick look away everyday from someone! Everyone says the second trimester is the best, so for now I am just enjoying being past the icky feeling and not yet uncomfortable stage. :)
So, enough about me.. on to the more important person in this.. Baby Bilton! We had a GREAT appointment this week and had our 18 week anatomy scan and it was so fun to see the little guy/gal. We have developed a great relationship with our ultrasound tech and we all got quite a few laughs at the little baby that would not stop moving! She was trying so hard to get all of the measurements that she needed and lil one was doing complete somersaults. Baby Bilton is measuring right on time and everything looked perfect. As my doctor said, pregnancy is the only time in your life when you want to be completely average..not too far ahead, not too far behind. While my overachieving self is having a hard time with this, I trust her and even though it sounds weird to me, I am so happy that we are absolutely, positively average. We were able to get a good shot of the feet and he/she definitely looks to have James' loooong skinny feet!
So, while 22 weeks seems an eternity away one moment, I also know it will be here before we know it. Guess we better start getting ready! Cannot wait to meet Baby B August 2nd! :)
