Anyway, back to the nursery.. so, when we started looking for nursery ideas I knew that I wanted to be surprised if the baby was a boy or girl, so a gender neutral nursery would be our plan. Most of the ideas I found were VERY neutral (aka B-O-R-I-N-G), but I finally found a few ideas that were just the inspiration I needed like these:

COLOR! Love the primary color palette.. it's bright and bold, but also very appropriate for a little sweet baby!
And, then I found the real inspiration.. antique toys!

James and I both have some great toys and books from when we were little (and even when our parents were kids) and knew that incorporating vintage toys, books and family photos along with the bright colors, would be perfect.
Once we had decided on the color palette and theme, I couldn't find any bedding that I just loved and anything that I even liked was so expensive. I knew I could make the crib skirt and accents, so with the help of James' mom, Carol, we set out on an adventure one Saturday to find fabric.
And, we found the perfect fabrics!

I just love the animals and bright colors! And, since I have a small obsession with monkeys, it's perfect! :)
So, now the theme is in place, fabric has arrived and it's time to make it happen! We purchased the crib and mattress, removed the twin beds from the room and got our glider (more to come about that awesome chair!), but we really haven't started bringing the nursery to life. So, this weekend we are really focusing on the nursery and I am excited to see the progress! With only 12 weeks to go, I guess it's about time we really focused on getting things ready. Cannot believe Baby B will be here in less than 90 days!
